OLD MOUNTAIN CASSIE: THE THREE LESSONS
Book: https://mybook.to/3x4keL
Welcome back to Potluck with Tonya Penrose. It’s always a special day for me when Old Mountain Cassie pays a visit and serves up more of her teachings. So, choose a seat at the table, and let’s enjoy a hearty portion of the sage’s enlightenment.
NOTE: If you haven’t experienced Old Mountain Cassie’s two earlier encounters, please take a moment to read those, or if you need a refresher.
Cassie’s turn…
“Hi to each of you, whom I call seekers. If you’re visiting my place again, it means your spirit is seeking new ways to connect with the inner you. And I’m happy to guide you to discover more insights on our journey.
You sure picked a pretty day to stop by my gardens. Before we meander on the path, I’d like to do a bit of reminding with you. You’ll enjoy our time together much more and maybe meet the unexpected.
Remember, Lesson One invited you to consider how your mind isn’t always your friend and, most times, can’t provide the answers to guide you on life’s path…the path you’re here on this earth to walk. I shared that only in the now moment can your spirit-self speak to you. For it’s in the now where everything you seek, and desire waits. Nowhere else. It’s the way.
Let’s head over to my rose garden. You’ll soon learn of their special enchantments and see how all flowers offer us gifts.
Did you know my roses bring a teaching? They do. Try this. Pause a moment and envision their colors as the iridescent light touches each petal. See them swaying with a gentleness toward you as you pass by. Why? Because they wish to thank you for your attention. Oh yes, this is true with all flowers. Nature’s beauty is meant to attract you to interact—to do a kind of exchange of energy and gifts, much like the bumble bees do. Flowers thrive on love, just like us.
Care to prove it to yourself? Here’s how. Choose two plants in your home. Each day bestow love and appreciation to only one. Touch the leaves. Encourage it to grow. And for the other one? Give it only water and sunshine. Nothing more. Now, observe the transformation over the coming months between the two.
I can tell you my violets respond by blooming pretty near non-stop when I’m giving them the gratefulness they deserve. Here’s the big message. Know that intelligence exists in all living things. And that intelligence wants to have a relationship with you.
Why not allow your spirit-self to connect to the flowers? Let the energy exchange happen. It’s real. Research and botanists say this, and so do I.
I have a lesson assignment. Next time you’re around any posy, take a moment to pause. Release the hold your mind has on you and be with that flower fully. Touch the blossom. Take a sniff. Compliment the flower’s beauty. Whisper whatever comes. Then, observe the change in the flower and the feelings and sensations washing over you.
What word did the fragrance give to you? Joy? Calmness? It’s a special gift to take with you. One you’ll want to repeat often because of the amazing benefits to your mind, body, and spirit.
Visiting with nature will offer you the divine kind of connection you’re meant to have each day. For divine intelligence wants us to be in conversation and relationship with creation. Why? Our spirit holds the answer, but our mind is clueless.
Nature’s intelligence, its energy, and all its living parts be they flowers, trees, or critters, want to help us thrive and not drive. Nature offers profound healing for the body and mind if we’re willing to trust, educate ourselves, and partake. The first step is to trust this truth. Only then may we reap the rewards.
Standing in my rose garden, I want to close our visit by inviting you to do something enlivening. Commit to seeking time around flowers. Remember to ask your spirit to connect with a particular flower that’s attracting your attention. Be like a bumble bee. Receive the flower’s offering. Become the receiver and then the giver. Both are gifts to you and to the flower. Spending time with all manner of flora in this way will enrich your life in ways you can’t imagine.
There’s one more thing I’d like you to consider doing as a giver. Share your experiences with others. Invite them on a nature walk and introduce the flowers in this type of communion. Live en-joy!
Don’t miss my next invite. I’ve more secrets to share on how to live life amazing.”
Cassie’s words and exercises are the stick-to-the-ribs kind. And while they need time for digesting, you can be sure adopting her suggestions of how to interact with nature will awaken your higher self in the best possible way. Everything changes when this relationship is forged. You’re moving toward experiencing the magic and enchantment of—well, you’ll see soon enough.
Until next time…stop and smell the flowers.

Cassie is so wise, and I couldn't agree more about the healing powers of nature. Yesterday, I stopped what I was doing and made a quick trip to the mountains. Just a short walk before sunset to snap some photos and take in the beauty around me.
Wisdom from the Sage. My favorite lines: "For divine intelligence wants us to be in conversation and relationship with creation. Why? Our spirit holds the answer, but our mind is clueless."
